To enhance the comedy element of the Restoration-era of Etheridge’s play' ‘The Man of Mode’, I designed a set filled with sculpted busts supported by columns. These were intended to give the impression that they are people listening to gossip. Many of the columns can move up and down or even collapse into the floor, creating different spaces for each scene and adding dynamic elements to the production. Backdrops in various colours are used to create interiors, adding depth and visal interest to the set.
